WHMCS / ClientExec Phone number format

Realtime Register requires the phone number of contacts to be in the E.164 format, specified by the ITU-T. Since some systems store phone numbers in a different format, a flexible solution was created.

Custom format

We allow resellers to specify the format in which phone numbers are stored in their system. Whenever the Realtime Register module is invoked, the phone numbers will be automatically converted on the fly. Note that no data is actually modified!

A phone number consists of a country code, an area code and a subscriber number. These seperate parts are designated by the following symbols:

• %c = country code (eg. 31 for The Netherlands)
  Optional. When omitted, the Realtime Register module will automatically attempt to determine the correct country code by looking at the country of the customer.
• %a = area code (eg. 38 for Zwolle)
  Optional. In some countries an area code does not exist.
• %s = subscriber number (eg. 4530759)
  May only contain digits and spaces.
