August 30th 2016, the Russian registry for .RU and. РФ domain names, changed its transfer policies. The former procedure (registrar push), is not supported anymore. In the new procedure, an authcode is required. The procedures also applies to .РФ, the Russian Cyrillic domain names. For readability purposes only .RU is mentioned below. At Realtime Register, incoming transfers with an authcode are accepted. The registry charges a small fee for the transfer in. Of course, these cost are passsed on by us. The flow is as follows, after the registrant / reseller has retrieved the authcode from the loosing registrar:
1. The reseller initiates the transfer at Realtime Register (on behalves of the registrant)
2. A FOA like email is send to the registrant, with a link to a confirmation page
3. Once accepted the domain is transferred to Realtime Register.
At https://www.mydomainprovider.com/request_authcode, the registrant can request the authcode. The authcode is, confirming to the TCI policies, provided to the registrant. Additionally, the Realtime Register reseller is notified.
